Stories & Music: Here, Now & How

Join us online for an evening of spoken word, songs and tunes with stories and poems from Rob Walton and Elaine Cusack, and music from Miggins Fiddle and Adam Holden.
Rob Walton is from Scunthorpe, and now lives in Whitley Bay. His poems, flash fictions and short stories for adults and children have appeared in various anthologies and magazines. Arachne Press published his debut poetry collection, This Poem Here, in March 2021. He has also written scripts, and columns for Scunthorpe United’s matchday magazine. He collated the text for the New Hartley Memorial Pathway. He co-hosts Free as a Bard at the Jam Jar Cinema.
Elaine Cusack lives and writes beside the North Sea. In 2019 she published her illustrated poetic memoir, The Princess of Felling. Elaine will be reading from her latest poetry pamphlet Loose Threads and Sacred Spaces, which will be launched 1st October.
Miggins Fiddle are guitar player and folk singer Maurice Condie and fiddle player Marina Dodgson. They perform original arrangements of traditional tunes and songs from Northumberland and beyond. Formed in 2019, they have performed in folk clubs, events and community settings across the region. Maurice and Marina also play together to lead Phoenix Folk’s popular online tune sessions
