George Welch is a legend in his own lunchtime. Folksinger, guitarist and ukulele player, he is enormously popular throughout North East England. Once famously barred from a well known Folk Festival for “Hobby Horse Rustling”, he has written many of the folk scenes most hilarious songs including The Ballad of Dennis Wheatley and 9 Stone Toyboy. Christine Jeans is his perfect foil, herself a brilliant banjo and ukulele player, and the only person capable of withstanding George’s humour! Joking aside, George and Christine also perform songs that move you to joy or tears, and we are delighted to welcome them.

There will also be some songs and tunes from Miggins Fiddle (Maurice Condie and Marina Dodgson).
