Morpeth Northumbrian Gathering 2026
Pop Up Folk Ensemble
We are delighted to be once again supporting the Morpeth Nothumbrian Gathering, which is taking place on the 10th, 11th and 12th of April 2026. We will be running a ‘pop up’ ensemble, which will give it’s one and only performance at the Saturday night concert.
To take part, you need to be available for both the rehearsal (10am – 10.50am) and the evening concert (6.30pm – 8.30pm) on Saturday 11th April.
We will be playing a set of tunes: Rusty Gulley, Reedhouse Rant, The Tricenetennial. There is a choice of parts and the ensemble is open to players of all levels of ability. All folk instruments welcome.
We’ll only have an hour to rehearse, so there will not be time for us to teach all of the tunes by ear. Unless you are a confident sight-reader, you might like to learn the tunes beforehand using the resources on this page. There’s no pressure to give a perfect performance, though. The main aim is to have fun!
