We are delighted to welcome some of the North East’s finest folk musicians into the studio for an online evening event. There will be time for guests to perform some solo material, and they will also lead a tunes session with us – so bring your instruments to join in from home! Sheet music will be available in advance via our website.
One of Northumberland’s best known accordion players, David Oliver, will once again join us for an evening of music. David is a longstanding and passionate advocate of community music making and has led projects around the world. He was the Education Director for Folkworks for 16 years and Chair of FolkArts England from 2003-2009. In 2020, David was appointed Honorary Steward and Bailiff of Hexham in recognition of his “important contribution to making Hexham a hotspot for traditional music”.
The evening will be a mix of solo performance by David and session tunes to join in with. See here for more details and sheet music for the session.
